How could a high school teacher get a job with the federal government

How could a high school teacher get a job with the federal government?

For any teacher, or for anyone working in the private sector and looking to begin a new career working for the Federal Government, you will have to begin at a certain level if you do not have prior government experience. However, many teachers have their master’s degrees which gives them an advantage over their lack of experience. The best thing to do is to search for a job that you are interested in at USAJOBS.gov. You will be surprised how many positions you qualify for with your teaching experience. There are different levels when applying for a government job that is based on your experience and determines how much your starting salary will be. GS-7 to GS-9 would be a safe place to start if you have your master’s degree. If you already know someone who works for the Federal Government and can refer you to a hiring manager, that is always an advantage when first starting out as former federal employees and veterans tend to already have an advantage over someone new entering the Federal Government job market. If you want to keep a job as a teacher, there are many opportunities overseas working as a teacher for The Department of State and The Department of Defense.
