How do you prepare for an interview with the Federal Government

How do you prepare for an interview with the Federal Government?

The first thing is to find out which type of interview you will be having. Will it be over the phone, in person, or a written interview. First thing you need to do is a lot of research on the agency and position you are interviewing for. There is so much more information available to people regarding Federal jobs than private sector ones, so there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to find lots of research material on the Federal job you are applying for. In addition to general information on the agency, also research the specific job title you are applying for, the current state of affairs of the agency, and a basic understanding of the operations and projections. Have a notebook handy which you can bring to the interview. Jot down any pertinent information you read on the internet, information you get from watching public lecture videos and from reading publications about the agency.
