How Long does it take to get a response after applying for a government job

How Long does it take to get a response after applying for a government job?

It depends on many factors whether you get a quick response or not. FIrst off, what are the immediate needs of the agency? If they are looking to feel a position immediately than you may hear back sooner than later, but later could be months depending on the needs of the agency. Most agencies have a 45-day timeline goal to fill a position. The OPM holds the agency to this 45-day timeline but it is not a goal that is legally binding. To ensure that you receive a callback for an interview, in addition to meeting all the qualifications of the job, you must also thoroughly review your resume before submitting it. It is important that you have an accurate Federal Style resume, a KSA. If you have not heard the term KSA please refer to question 21. You must have the appropriate and exact language to describe your qualifications and achievements.
