What type of degree do I need to get a government job

What type of degree do I need to get a government job?

You may find it surprising, as this is not the case in the private job sector, but there are very few jobs that require a college degree in the Federal Government. Positions in accounting, engineering and ecologist all require college coursework. Jobs such as Budget Analyst and Personnel Specialist do not require a college degree. Just like in most jobs, experience will make up for not having a college degree. If you do have a college degree and no prior government related experience you may be able to enter the Federal Job market at a higher level like GS-5. If you maintained above a B average grade point average you may be able to enter at GS-7 level.
